Purpose:
The Project Engineer at Clow Valve Company plays a crucial role in enhancing the production of high-quality waterworks products. This position involves being an integral part of a dedicated team focused on implementing technological advancements in equipment and manufacturing processes.
Key Performance Indicators:
Project Delivery: Ensure 100% on-time completion of projects.
Budget Management: Maintain project costs within 10% of established budgets.
Professional Development: Attend a minimum of two professional development seminars or conferences annually.
Core Responsibilities:
Project Management (40%): Conduct thorough research and provide accurate cost estimates for engineering projects, effectively schedule resources, and oversee contractor activities. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to implement projects and perform facility infrastructure repairs while adhering to timelines and budgets. Build relationships across the organization to promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with EHS standards throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain active communication with EHS to assess compliance requirements and accurately document all necessary compliance data as per corporate and governmental regulations.
Maintenance (40%): Develop proactive partnerships with maintenance and facility managers to implement upgrades and conduct predictive and preventive maintenance, ensuring optimal machine uptime. Assist the engineering and maintenance teams during furnace rebuilds. Ensure safety systems for equipment are maintained and tested regularly, including programming and maintaining robots, as well as conducting annual tests on facility and manufacturing equipment to guarantee functionality.
Innovation (20%): Foster trusting relationships within the organization to thoroughly understand production needs. Proactively identify and research innovative casting technologies that enhance equipment longevity, efficiency, environmentally friendly alternatives, molding process efficiencies, and machine safety systems. Provide budgeted cost projections and timelines for new technology implementation and offer training and support to the production floor. Pursue ongoing educational opportunities for professional growth.
