Project Estimator

As a Project Estimator, reporting directly to the Director of Preconstruction, you will play a crucial role in the construction process across diverse projects ranging from historic renovations to innovative ground-up constructions.
Your primary duties will include preparing budgets through meticulous analysis of specifications, reviewing drawings, negotiating contracts, and identifying comprehensive project costs across various job types. You will also effectively communicate with architects, design professionals, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure bids and ensure subcontractor qualifications while negotiating prices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Embody and uphold our core values.
- Analyze project proposals to prepare accurate estimates.
- Maintain a weekly bid calendar to ensure the timely completion of estimates.
- Review estimates and revisions for accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in bid meetings and formulate effective bid strategies.
- Gather construction documents and analyze historical cost data to understand project scope.
- Conduct detailed quantity surveys of construction documents.
- Create estimates using corporate software.
- Source pricing for materials and obtain bids from subcontractors.
- Perform cost analysis by summarizing material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.
- Develop estimates where predetermined standards are not available.
- Maintain up-to-date resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, and government requirements.
- Attend departmental meetings as required.
- Build relationships with all stakeholders, including trade partners, owners, and design teams.
- Lead meetings as necessary for design-assist processes.
- Monitor and communicate price fluctuations throughout design-assist processes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of estimating experience in construction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in construction software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse teams.
