AECOM is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and motivated biologist to play a pivotal role within our Environment team in Quebec. Our environmental services encompass various sectors, including major infrastructure projects such as energy transportation, dams, mining projects, roads, bridges, and stabilization efforts.
As a Project Manager, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure project success while adhering to high-quality standards. You will serve both as a biologist and project manager, depending on the complexity of the assignments. For large multidisciplinary projects, you will work under the supervision of senior colleagues.
Additionally, you will be involved in regulatory monitoring.
The selected candidate must be comfortable establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients. To effectively guide clients through the process of obtaining necessary permits, the ideal candidate should possess a thorough understanding of environmental impact assessment and review procedures in Quebec (MELCCFP, AEIC, MPO).
This position allows for hybrid work or can be 100% in-person at one of our offices in Quebec (Montréal, Trois-Rivières, Québec, Jonquière, Rouyn-Noranda, Baie-Comeau, or Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville).
Key Responsibilities
Technical Expertise and Project Management
Act as a project manager or director.
Serve as a biologist and collaborate with professionals from various disciplines on significant projects.
Oversee project budgeting and logistics while meeting deadlines.
Master environmental regulations and ensure compliance through ongoing monitoring.
Provide technical expertise within the context of environmental studies.
Draft reports and inventory protocols that comply with current standards (provincial and federal authorities).
Develop monitoring and follow-up programs, compensation plans, and restoration projects.
Maintain effective communication within the team.
Guide the technical team during field inventories.
Analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
Participate in field inventories as needed.
Contribute to environmental impact studies and permit applications.
Engage in habitat restoration or compensation projects.
Client Approach
Ensure effective communication with clients.
Participate in client meetings and discussions with regulatory authorities.
Assist clients in understanding environmental regulations.
