As the Project Manager II (5504) for Design & Construction at San Francisco International Airport, you will play a vital role in managing all aspects of airport engineering projects under the guidance of the Airfield Program Manager. Your responsibilities will encompass project programming, design, construction, and closeout phases, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets while effectively communicating airport requirements to project teams. You will also coordinate stakeholder involvement and provide regular updates to Airport Management on project status and challenges.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Strategically planning, organizing, and executing complex airport engineering projects from inception through to completion.
- Overseeing project scope, schedule, budget, funding, and change control processes in alignment with Airport and FAA standards.
- Collaborating with SFO Operations and Maintenance to define and document project objectives and technical requirements.
- Evaluating existing airfield pavement, lighting, and infrastructure conditions and proposing viable improvement alternatives.
- Providing expert technical oversight and leadership to consultants, designers, contractors, and cross-functional internal teams.
- Acting as the primary liaison for internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and external partners.
- Facilitating environmental reviews, permitting, and regulatory approvals necessary for project execution.
- Identifying construction impacts and developing effective mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to airport operations.
- Supervising the preparation of construction documents, procurement processes, bidding, and contract award activities.
- Monitoring project performance and delivering comprehensive status reports, including risks and issues, to Airport Management.
- Carrying out other relevant duties as outlined in the 5504 Project Manager II job classification.

Midfield Taxiways Improvement Project
Enhancing safety, efficiency, and FAA compliance through rehabilitation of pavement, lighting, and drainage at the intersection of Taxiways A, B, E, and F.
Runway 1R-19L Rehabilitation & Taxiway W Project
Upgrading Runway 1R–19L and associated taxiways with pavement repairs, lighting enhancements, and EMAS safety area improvements.
Taxiways A and B Rehabilitation, Phase 2 Project
Restoring pavement condition and meeting FAA standards through the rehabilitation of sections of Taxiways A and B near Terminals 1 and 3.
