Join Arboc as a Purchasing Agent and be a vital part of our team!
Essential Functions:
- Support the Purchasing Manager in executing key responsibilities and tasks.
- Oversee daily operations for assigned items as directed by the Director of Purchasing.
- Ensure compliance with supplier agreements established by the Purchasing Manager.
- Procure materials as assigned, ensuring timely delivery to align with production schedules and leveraging economic order quantities when possible, with signature authority up to $50,000.
- Monitor raw material inventory levels to prevent shortages and minimize excess investment, aiming to mitigate obsolescence.
- Address items on the daily shortage report, updating necessary fields and notifying the Purchasing Manager about unresolved items affecting shipping timelines.
- Collaborate with Bill of Material personnel to rectify material usage discrepancies.
- Communicate any changes in material costs to the Purchasing Manager for appropriate action.
- Resolve past due purchase orders or inform the Purchasing Manager of potential delays to prevent shortages.
- Manage the processing and disposition of materials that are damaged or obsolete.
- Implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as directed by the Purchasing Manager.
- Handle sales change orders as required.
- Resolve disputed supplier invoices within the three invoice approval queues.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist the Purchasing Manager during the raw material physical inventory process, including calculating and reporting total raw material values to accounting.
- Engage in resolving supplier quality or warranty issues.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives related to Buy America compliance.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
