Join CD PROJEKT RED as a QA Engineering Manager and take charge of our QA Engineering function. Initially, you will focus on supporting the highly anticipated Witcher 4, where the demand for advanced automation frameworks and tools is paramount. As you grow into the role, your expertise will extend to other exciting projects like Cyberpunk 2 and Sirius, with the ultimate aim of establishing shared QA Engineering services and technologies that enhance multiple teams across our studio.
Your mission is to transform the QA Engineering landscape by owning frameworks, tools, and pipelines that empower our QA and development teams to deliver stable, testable, and high-performance builds. While QA Engineering falls under the broader QA organization, this role is designed to foster close collaboration with Engineering and DevOps, ensuring a continuous feedback loop with technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and build the QA Engineering team, prioritizing support for Witcher 4 while creating reusable solutions for future titles such as Cyberpunk 2 and Sirius.
- Develop and refine the QA Engineering strategy, aligning it with current project demands and establishing a foundation for studio-wide QA capabilities.
- Manage the design, development, and maintenance of automation frameworks and tools utilized by QA and development teams, including automated functional tests, build validations, stability checks, and performance assessments.
- Work closely with Engineering, DevOps, and Production to ensure seamless integration and deployment of testing instruments within CI/CD pipelines.
- Establish and track metrics for QA Engineering, such as coverage, pipeline health, automation reliability, and defect detection, driving continuous improvement based on data insights.
- Identify and implement enhancements in processes and tools that improve testability, observability, and overall development efficiency, with a focus on reusability across projects.
- Proactively manage risks and dependencies related to QA Engineering, anticipating potential issues in automation, tooling, or infrastructure and developing mitigation strategies.
- Mentor and guide QA Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and technical excellence within the team.
- Assist in planning and resource allocation for QA Engineering initiatives, balancing immediate project needs with long-term technical investments.
- Effectively communicate with stakeholders, providing regular updates on the status, impact, and roadmap of QA Engineering efforts across QA, Tech, and Production.
