The Role
The Quality Assurance Manager will lead and oversee all quality assurance (QA) operations at greenthumbindustries' production facilities. This pivotal role involves enhancing existing quality assurance policies, as well as developing and implementing new standard operating procedures. The manager will be instrumental in establishing Product Quality programs, ensuring compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) standards, and managing systems for tracking product quality, ingredient management, allergen control, sanitation protocols, and product safety practices. The successful candidate will ensure that all team members adhere to GTI's operating procedures and comply with relevant federal, state, and county quality regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the QA department, ensuring all staff are trained on and comply with standard operating procedures.
- Review and authorize the release of product batches in alignment with state regulations and GTI's operating procedures.
- Define, implement, and enhance GTI's Quality Management System, focusing on process and product testing to meet quality standards, including product disposition decisions.
- Collaborate with management to spearhead quality initiatives that develop a high-performing, scalable, and compliant quality system.
- Implement and uphold sanitation and quality control measures to ensure the safety, purity, and consistency of cannabis products.
- Ensure adherence to GTI's HACCP, allergen, and sanitation management programs.
- Assess and approve investigations into cannabis product complaints, including reviewing findings and determining follow-up actions.
- Conduct Root Cause investigations for product quality issues, whether arising from customer complaints or production anomalies.
- Ensure compliance with GTI's designated positive product release and safety protocols.
- Evaluate third-party lab results when necessary.
- Facilitate Monthly Site Quality Reviews with site leadership and corporate quality leaders.
- Review and authorize planned deviations and changes to SOPs prior to implementation.
- Manage issues related to non-conforming materials, collaborating with procurement on supplier matters.
- Execute training required by state regulations.
- Monitor quality KPIs; analyze data to identify trends and implement corrective action plans.
