POSITION OVERVIEW: The Recreation Leader role offers three distinct levels, all under the guidance of the Recreation and Park Operation Staff. Below is a summary of each level:
Recreation Leader I: Assists in program delivery tailored to skills and interests; performs facility monitoring and related duties.
Recreation Leader II: Facilitates engaging recreation programs and activities in group environments, covering a wide spectrum from arts to sports and expanded learning.
Recreation Leader III: Takes charge of delivering certified recreation, leisure, and sports programs where advanced expertise or certification is required.
Key Responsibilities: All levels may include duties such as the setup and breakdown of facility equipment, occasional janitorial tasks, and other related responsibilities as assigned.
Available Assignments Include:
- Community Services Programming: Focused on Early Childhood Recreation, Afterschool & Summer Camps, Teen programs, Adult 55+ programming, Health and Wellness initiatives, and Therapeutic Recreation.
- Cultural Arts Programming: Providing opportunities in Visual, Performing, and Digital Arts.
- Aquatics Programming: Offering swim lessons for all ages, Water Exercise programs, and Waterfront Sports like kayaking.
- Sports & Athletic Programming: Encompassing activities such as baseball, softball, basketball, boxing, flag football, golf, soccer, tennis, track & field, and volleyball.
- Outdoor Recreation Programming: Including skateboarding, archery, rock climbing, ropes courses, and other nature-based activities.
