As a Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for the food sector, you will be pivotal in driving revenue through a consultative sales approach. Your role will involve identifying and nurturing new business opportunities, while building enduring partnerships with clients in the food industry. You will evaluate customer needs and tailor solutions from our extensive product portfolio, which includes industry-leading training, certification, ISO standards, and complementary schemes. Achieving your sales targets and enhancing revenue through our solutions will be key to your success.
Territory: Southeast Region of the United States
- Meet and exceed sales revenue objectives within your defined territory.
- Oversee all sales activities including audits, training, and comprehensive solutions across the Southeastern US.
- Design and execute a strategic business and marketing plan to expand the customer base in your territory.
- Collaborate with sales and support teams to ensure customer satisfaction and to achieve revenue and long-term account goals consistent with SGS’ vision and values.
- Maintain a robust database of qualified leads via CRM, sourced from referrals, meetings, calls, direct mail, emails, and networking.
- Recommend and sell our diverse solutions to address client challenges effectively.
- Develop proposals in alignment with Accreditation Body requirements and sector-specific needs.
- Capitalize on opportunities to secure market share from competitors.
- Accurately document all sales and prospecting activities, including calls, presentations, and follow-ups within your territory.
- Gather and present detailed business information for pricing strategies.
- Conduct impactful proposal presentations and respond to RFPs, highlighting prospective clients’ business challenges and their implications.
- Contribute to the development of educational programs tailored for clients.
- Foster effective relationships with all support departments to facilitate teamwork.
- Support the implementation of company-wide marketing initiatives.
- Involve the appropriate International Sales Manager (ISM) or International Account Manager (IAM) for qualifying Global Key Account opportunities.
- Consistently prioritize safety, adhering to SGS policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of employees and clients.
- Uphold the SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct at all times.
- Follow internal standards, policies, and procedures diligently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
