The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cath Lab plays a crucial role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care during shifts. This position is responsible for adhering to established Cardiovascular Lab nursing standards, managing personnel and resources effectively, and fostering collaboration with physicians and other departments. The RN operates with a high degree of independence under occasional supervision and assists in educating staff across departments regarding cardiovascular patient care.
This position is PRN (as needed) with eligibility for a 16% PRN differential.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate within a team of healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
- Maintain composure and professionalism during high-risk procedures and emergency situations.
- Exhibit strong communication skills and provide patient and family education while ensuring a calming presence.
- Rotate through scrub, circulator, or monitor technician roles, prioritizing patient safety and infection control.
- Participate in on-call duties, responding promptly within 30 minutes when needed.
- Demonstrate expertise in basic invasive cardiovascular technology.
- Safely prepare and operate advanced radiographic equipment such as x-ray tables, cameras, video recorders, ultrasound machines, and pressure injectors.
- Contribute to quality assurance and performance improvement projects as assigned.
- Assist in identifying educational needs of staff and support training and development initiatives.
- Embody the principles of a Just Culture and uphold Organizational Values.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, maintaining HIPAA compliance.
