The Registered Nurse - Emergency Services In-House Registry embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine (NM). The ideal candidate is a clinically proficient, registered professional nurse responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care for acutely ill patients through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. This position requires effective interaction with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members, while upholding the ANA standards of professional nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze patient data to establish expected outcomes, develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinate care delivery, and evaluate progress towards achieving these outcomes.
- Direct care and identify appropriate utilization of nursing assistants in delivering direct patient care.
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff to create documented care plans focused on patient outcomes, ensuring effective communication throughout the process.
- Engage in shared governance, participate in committee work, and contribute to unit projects.
- Assess and document patient responses to nursing interventions in the health record, customizing care plans based on evaluation findings.
- Utilize the best available evidence, including research findings, to inform practice decisions.
