As a licensed healthcare professional, you will be pivotal in delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to individuals undergoing hemodialysis treatment. Collaborating closely with an inter-professional healthcare team, you will adhere to the nursing practice standards set forth by Osler, regulatory requirements from the College of Nurses, and the legislative guidelines of the Regulated Health Professions Act.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe nursing practices across all stages of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Maintain compliance with policies and procedures related to patient observations.
- Deliver professional, patient-centered care that prioritizes safety and promotes both physiological and psychological well-being, fostering therapeutic relationships and environments.
- Provide compassionate care to diverse populations while respecting cultural differences.
- Implement infection control and prevention protocols diligently.
- Act promptly in emergency situations by identifying changes in patients' health status and consulting appropriately, following transfer of accountability principles.
- Educate patients and families about health management, including comprehensive discharge instructions to facilitate continuity of care in the community.
