Are you a passionate Registered Nurse eager to make a significant difference in patient care? Join our dedicated Wound Care team at Northwestern Medicine in Palos Heights! We handle a diverse range of wound cases and ostomies, with multiple positions available:
- 1.0 FTE Full-Time Days: 40 hours per week with standard shifts from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, including some weekends. This role is primarily clinic-based with opportunities for cross-training to inpatient care.
- 0.8 FTE Part-Time Days: 32 hours per week with standard shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, requiring every other weekend. This role focuses primarily on inpatient wound care.
The Staff Nurse embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adhering to our Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program while complying with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- The Registered Nurse is accountable for the individualized, age-specific care of patients from admission to discharge. They provide direct care to assigned patients, assist with other patient needs as necessary, and make ethical decisions on behalf of patients and families. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing assessment data to establish nursing diagnoses, collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team to develop care plans, and providing education based on evidence-based practice while evaluating the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and document patient status, identifying care needs upon admission.
- Organize health data to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Recognize problems requiring immediate attention.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to validate diagnoses with patients and families.
