Join our dedicated maintenance team as a Reliability Engineer where you will play a vital role in enhancing the operational efficiency of our mill through predictive and preventive measures.
Key Responsibilities:
Your role will encompass a range of site-wide responsibilities, including the sawmill, planer mill, dry kilns, site services, and mobile equipment. You will analyze plant downtime, quality, safety, and financial metrics to pinpoint focus areas for our maintenance and operations teams:
- Lead and facilitate failure investigations by analyzing failure mechanisms and implementing solutions aimed at improving reliability, quality, safety, and financial outcomes.
- Redesign machinery and processes to enhance plant reliability while reducing operational costs.
- Provide direct supervision to the Reliability Technicians.
- Implement best practices regarding lubrication and the application, handling, and storage of lubricants, along with overseeing the oil analysis program.
- Manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs, including vibration analysis, thermography, infrared inspection, oil analysis, and precision alignment to enhance the mill’s reliability.
- Oversee hydraulic and compressor programs.
- Promote the adoption of best maintenance practices across the facility.
- Utilize the mill’s computerized maintenance management system (Maximo) to oversee all maintenance activities relevant to this position.
- Assist in planning and executing maintenance tasks as necessary.
- Identify additional opportunities site-wide to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
- Coordinate and manage services from OEM representatives and third parties aimed at improving equipment reliability and lifecycle costs.
- Benchmark performance and best practices against other facilities.
- Effectively communicate reliability activities and outcomes to all departments, including senior management.
- Possess a thorough understanding of machinery functions. A hands-on approach is essential for grasping the failure mechanisms of machinery.
- Engage in project management as needed.
