JOB SUMMARY
The Relief Inpatient Pharmacy Technician I is an essential entry-level role within the Pharmacy Technician Job Family at Stanford Medicine Children's Health. This position, supervised by a licensed pharmacist, is responsible for non-sterile compounding and various central pharmacy operations. The Pharmacy Technician I prepares medication doses and responds promptly to nursing requests, ensuring compliance with all State Board of Pharmacy regulations. This role is designed for professionals who are eager to develop their skills within a supportive environment, with close supervision provided throughout the training period.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
In this role, you will be involved in a range of essential functions, including but not limited to:
- Compounding non-sterile, non-hazardous medications and repackaging drugs with accuracy for pharmacist approval.
- Conducting inventory checks to monitor supplies and manage stock rotation while removing expired medications.
- Accurately preparing and distributing medications, while ensuring proper documentation in pharmacy systems.
- Generating basic pharmacy operation reports and responding to nursing requests efficiently, adhering to security protocols.
- Participating in the distribution and delivery of controlled substances as required.
- Filling medication trays and ensuring the accuracy of medication distribution.
- Utilizing pharmacy resources effectively for maintaining accurate documentation.
