Join our multidisciplinary healthcare team at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, where medical social workers play a vital role in providing psychosocial interventions to patients and their families across various departments. Your work will address a wide range of biopsychosocial issues, involving thorough assessments of social needs related to health status and the creation of tailored treatment plans. This includes advocacy within the organization and community, offering counseling, referrals, and essential practical support to achieve desired outcomes. You will also provide consultation, orientation, and training to healthcare staff regarding the impact of biopsychosocial, cultural, and economic factors on patient care. As an advocate for the core values and ethics of social work, you will contribute significantly to both Stanford Medicine and the wider community.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker:
This role represents the second level of professional social work for those licensed as Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) in California. Positions at this level entail substantial professional responsibility and the independence required to deliver effective social work services.
Social Work Clinician:
This is the entry-level position for recent graduates and those with professional social work experience who have yet to obtain LCSW licensure in California.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Typical functions include but are not limited to:
- Providing individual and group clinical supervision to MSWs and student interns as assigned.
- Maintaining electronic medical records in alignment with departmental and health system policies.
- Delivering both written and oral reports and ensuring effective hand-offs.
- Ensuring compliance with all Joint Commission Requirements, including patient care standards and cultural sensitivity.
- Upholding all hospital policies, service standards, and the code of conduct.
