We invite skilled and organized General Practitioners to become part of our remote triage team. In your role as a Triage GP with Ortus Health, your clinical decisions will directly affect patient outcomes. You will join a vibrant, supportive team that operates remotely while maintaining a close connection to the practices we serve.
Your key responsibilities will include reviewing patient contacts across various GP practices, maintaining clinical oversight, comprehending local pathways, and remaining vigilant to risks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
You will leverage your clinical judgment to manage risks effectively, which may involve issuing prescriptions, conducting patient calls, or directing them to urgent services. Additionally, you will offer support to fellow team members, including care coordinators, receptionists, and pharmacists.
This position is fully remote with adaptable working hours. Your sessions can be structured to accommodate your existing portfolio career or personal commitments.
The Role:
- Exhibit clinical leadership and exceptional organizational abilities
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance frameworks and keep protocols updated
- Communicate with practices to resolve complaints or inquiries
- Conduct interviews, onboarding, and training for new clinical staff
- Triage incoming patient contacts via digital platforms from various practices
- Make safe and effective clinical decisions with limited information as necessary
- Provide telephone consultations as required
- Issue prescriptions, fit notes, referrals, and safety-netting advice
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases as appropriate
- Support the broader remote team, including pharmacists and care coordinators
- Adapt to various clinical systems (e.g., EMIS, SystmOne) and local processes
- Maintain clinical oversight across multiple patient flows
- Document consultations accurately in compliance with GMC and practice standards
- Audit the work of the team, including GPs, pharmacists, and care coordinators
