Longbridge Financial is thrilled to invite applications for the position of Remote Paralegal within our Corporate Legal Department. This pivotal role reports directly to the VP Deputy General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
The Paralegal will play an essential role in supporting our legal team by executing a variety of legal support tasks, including comprehensive loan document reviews aimed at enhancing our product offerings, conducting legal research, ensuring compliance, reviewing contracts, and preparing and revising loan and ancillary documents.
Main Duties:
- Thoroughly review loan documents to confirm compliance with federal and state consumer laws and regulations such as RESPA, TILA, ECOA, FCRA, Fair Housing Act, Dodd Frank, UDAAP, GLBA, HMDA, FHA/HUD, and GNMA guidelines.
- Assist in the development of new products and project management initiatives, including HELOC and reverse mortgage offerings.
- Support the transactional management duties of the legal team.
- Facilitate the drafting, editing, revising, proofreading, and redlining of legal documents including contracts, agreements, letters, and other correspondence.
- Conduct research and analysis on legal sources, including statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, and articles pertinent to the mortgage sector.
- Address guideline issues with legal complexities and provide research-based advice on next steps for product development.
