About the job
Join Marathon Fusion as a Research Electrical Engineer
At Marathon Fusion, we are revolutionizing the engineering technologies necessary to transition fusion from theoretical experiments to viable power plants. Unlike many in the industry who are focused solely on proving new fusion devices, we prioritize developing practical systems to make fusion a deployable energy source at a climate-relevant scale.
Our team is dedicated to creating advanced fuel cycle and plant-level technologies that facilitate stable isotope production, ensure fuel cycle closure, and develop cutting-edge blanket systems capable of generating energy and high-value co-products.
Founded in 2023, we are committed to building the components and systems that will establish fusion as a practical, abundant, and reliable energy source for the 21st century.
Our Culture
Marathon Fusion thrives in a dynamic startup environment that demands focus, adaptability, and strong prioritization skills. Success in this atmosphere requires proactive communication, the ability to cultivate trust among team members, and a commitment to continuous learning and skill development. We highly value self-direction and initiative within our team.
Your Role
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with hands-on expertise in high-power and control systems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, physicists, and technicians to prototype, test, and implement innovative solutions that advance the fusion fuel cycle and stable isotope production.
This position demands a combination of practical engineering acumen and systems-level thinking. You will be instrumental in integrating and supporting power systems, developing safe and robust control architectures, and standardizing data collection across various experimental test setups.
