Undergraduate Research Intern: $94,320 (Annually)
Master's Research Intern: $106,110 (Annually)
PhD Research Intern: $140,000 (Annually)

The Asta Project at Ai2 (https://allenai.org/asta) is dedicated to rapidly propelling scientific discovery by creating innovative AI solutions. These include AI research assistants for scientists, literature comprehension and synthesis, human-AI interaction, intelligent interfaces, and agents capable of learning over time.
We seek driven and ambitious interns eager to tackle complex challenges with significant potential impact. Key focus areas include:
- Agentic planning, reasoning, learning, and evaluation.
- Automated and AI-assisted scientific discovery.
- Data-driven discovery.
- Human-AI collaboration, particularly in literature sensemaking and research ideation.
- Human-agent collaboration, emphasizing proactivity and memory management.
- Understanding scientific literature, RAG, and multi-document summarization.
- Continual learning, representation, and reasoning.
- Post-training model tuning, distillation, and specialization.
