Team and Position Overview
The Workers’ Compensation Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator is responsible for the daily administration of Carvana’s Transitional Duty Program, facilitating employees' safe and effective return to work after a job-related injury or illness. This role is crucial in ensuring that all return-to-work activities prioritize employee safety, adhere to medical advice, and comply with both company policies and workers’ compensation regulations.
The RTW Coordinator will manage return-to-work accommodations for employees with medically prescribed restrictions (light or modified duty) and those cleared for full duty. Responsibilities include coordinating appropriate assignments, tracking restrictions and release dates, and ensuring effective communication with all involved parties throughout the process. This position also offers administrative and operational support to the broader Workers’ Compensation program. As the primary contact for the Transitional Duty Program, the RTW Coordinator collaborates closely with Human Resources, Workers’ Compensation claims adjusters, injured employees, and their supervisors to promote timely dialogue and a positive return-to-work experience. The RTW Coordinator will document all activities, correspondence, and decisions in the company’s Risk Management Information System (RMIS). This position reports directly to the Corporate Insurance Team Lead within the Corporate Insurance Department.
