Job Description & Position Requirements:
We are seeking a skilled RF Optimization Engineer with in-depth knowledge of LTE/VoLTE technology and LTE network architecture. A strong background in supporting RF deployments for US-based cellular operators is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in RF Planning and Optimization for LTE, UMTS, and GSM technologies.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in LTE and/or VoLTE RF optimization or network performance management functions, including trending, analysis, monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Nokia NetAct OSS for alarm management, performance management, and parameter configuration management is preferred. Hands-on experience with Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent LTE TDD and FDD parameters is a plus.
• Proficient with LTE parameters, KPI counters, Operational Performance Indicator (OPI) counters, and call scenarios. Must be skilled in reviewing daily KPI reports to identify performance degradation issues.
• Extensive experience in network performance components and troubleshooting methodologies, including detecting throughput issues and connection drops. Familiarity with Nokia tools such as PNM, ALU NPO, and NetAct RS for creating reports and conducting deep dive analysis is essential.
• Experience in RF Optimization Layer 3 analysis using tools like ACTIX is a valuable asset.
• Capable of running traces for troubleshooting and analysis, with knowledge of drive testing equipment such as JDSU/RAN Advisor, Nemo, TEMS, X-cal, Windcatcher, and FalconSmart.
• Expertise in troubleshooting tasks such as resetting eNB/RRH, parameter changes, running work orders, updating YANG files, and managing alarms and RSSI issues.
• Understanding of Radio Resource Management functionalities, including handover control, admission controls, and capacity management.
• Knowledge and experience in monitoring site alarms, conducting health checks of sites, and resolving alarms would be beneficial.
• Desirable to have familiarity with RF design principles including link budget inputs and propagation models, as well as optimization tools like PLANET and ATOLL.
Candidate should possess a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
