About the job

Turnitin is on the lookout for a motivated and self-directed Sales Development Representative to spearhead sales growth through strategic prospecting and identifying quality leads for our sales team.

As the inaugural point of contact for potential business prospects, your role will be instrumental in supporting our account executives. You will cultivate a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities by performing market research, executing data-driven campaigns, and formulating dynamic territory plans. A deep understanding of the Turnitin Integrity and Assessment product portfolios will enable you to assess customer needs, address objections, and position suitable solutions effectively. You will maintain the relationship until the prospect is qualified and ready to engage with an account executive, allowing them to concentrate on closing deals while you focus on generating new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Prospecting: Conduct market analysis to inform go-to-market strategies. Collaborate with your regional sales team to create and implement a dynamic territory plan, pinpointing key opportunities and ensuring measurable outcomes.
  • Lead Generation: Proactively prospect within assigned territories to generate new leads. Design and execute targeted multi-touch inbound and outbound campaigns across social media, email, and phone to boost engagement and build a solid pipeline.
  • Lead Qualification & Advancement: Follow up on, qualify, and nurture all assigned leads. Navigate institutional buying processes by identifying key decision-makers and influencers. Skillfully mitigate objections by clarifying concerns and providing well-prepared solutions.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Partner closely with the sales team to outline next steps for each prospect. Keep the sales team updated on project statuses, ensuring all relevant CRM systems (like Salesforce.com) are updated in real-time.
  • Performance & Development: Meet or exceed all assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Maintain detailed prospect account lists, diligently tracking lead progress. Commit to continuous learning and development of your technical, competitive, and sales skills.
