The Role:
The SAP Budget to Report (B2R) Subject Matter Expert (SME) plays a pivotal role as the primary authority on S/4HANA implementations. This position is crucial for ensuring that the S/4HANA Financial solution is aligned with the client’s Financial Management Modernization (FMM) ambitions. The SME serves as an essential link between the technical implementation team and client financial stakeholders, validating that the system adheres to specific accounting standards, General Fund/Working Capital Fund requirements, and achieves unmodified audit opinions. The B2R SME is tasked with guiding the design of compliant financial structures and federal reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise on client-specific Financial Structures, ensuring the S/4HANA Universal Journal (ACDOCA) design accommodates specific dimensions like the Standard Line of Accounting (SLOA) and Standard Information Design (SID).
- Lead Funds Management (FM) initiatives for the client, architecting a three-dimensional budget structure (Fund, Funds Center, Commitment Item) to facilitate client Appropriation and Apportionment processes.
- Oversee Budgetary Ledger (BL) postings, ensuring synchronization of proprietary and budgetary accounting entries per USSGL and client financial policy.
- Facilitate Audit Readiness (FIAR) by ensuring the system captures necessary Key Supporting Documents (KSDs) and maintains a transparent audit trail for client audits.
- Conduct “Fit-to-Standard” Workshops, translating client-specific business rules into standard SAP S/4HANA processes while identifying and justifying federal gaps.
