At 10x Genomics, we are pioneering advancements in diagnostics by harnessing our cutting-edge single-cell and spatial assay technologies for transformative clinical applications. We are currently looking for a Scientist II to become an integral part of our clinical bioinformatics team. The ideal candidate will be adept at translating intricate biological questions into effective computational strategies, employing computational and statistical methodologies to analyze extensive single-cell or spatial transcriptomics datasets to extract clinically relevant insights.
This role necessitates a biology-first approach, expertise in large-scale bioinformatics analysis, and a strong foundation in scientific reasoning and statistical analysis. The successful candidate will have the chance to work with some of the largest biomedical datasets, using state-of-the-art 10x Genomics technologies to drive innovations in clinical diagnostics.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Execute comprehensive computational and statistical methods for single-cell and spatial transcriptomics data analysis.
- Extract actionable insights from clinical and translational single-cell or in-situ spatial datasets.
- Design, implement, and validate biomarkers for diagnostic use.
- Develop and uphold bioinformatics pipelines for reproducible, large-scale data processing.
- Process and analyze single-cell or in-situ spatial transcriptomics datasets encompassing hundreds to thousands of samples.
To Be Successful, You Will Need:
- A Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or a related field, along with substantial hands-on experience in single-cell NGS data analysis.
- At least 2 years of relevant industry experience post-Ph.D.
- Proficiency in analyzing large-scale single-cell or spatial transcriptomics datasets to glean biologically significant insights and/or diagnostic biomarkers.
- A deep understanding of the assumptions, limitations, and caveats associated with statistical methods.
- Experience in developing and optimizing high-performance, scalable code.
- Proficiency in a Linux environment.
- A goal-oriented, self-driven mindset with a knack for independent problem solving.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
