Role Overview:
The Summer Camp Counselor Float plays a crucial role in supporting the execution of activities, ensuring camper supervision, and maintaining organization at our summer day camp for youth in grades 3-8. This position demands adaptability, as counselors will be assigned to specific locations each morning based on daily needs.
Compensation: $18.50 per hour
Schedule: Part-time, seasonal; morning and afternoon shifts available.
- Must be fully available from June 1 to August 21.
- Consistent schedule of Monday through Friday.
- Daily shift times: either 8 AM - 12:30 PM (morning shift) or 12 PM - 4:30 PM (afternoon shift).
Locations: Regular travel between Golden Valley, Coon Rapids, and Woodbury, MN, with assignments given each morning.
Application Process: Interested candidates will complete a short video questionnaire, followed by a 30-minute virtual interview with a recruiter and a brief meet-and-greet with the hiring manager. A background check is required for all applicants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet campers and guardians upon arrival and departure, maintaining accurate attendance records.
- Assist in directing, supervising, and organizing camper activities to achieve desired outcomes.
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of all campers.
- Participate in teaching lessons and activities, adapting to the varying ages, abilities, and dynamics of camper groups.
- Engage enthusiastically with campers during games and activities.
- Support the setup and cleanup of camp events.
- Address and resolve camper issues or conflicts positively and constructively.
- Escalate issues as necessary for appropriate resolution.
- Provide guardians with relevant feedback and information regarding their campers.
