About Mastery Schools:
Established in 2001, Mastery Schools represents a dynamic network of 23 K-12 public charter schools located in Philadelphia and Camden, dedicated to the academic success of over 14,000 students.
At Mastery, we are driven by a powerful mission: to equip every student with the essential academic and personal skills needed to thrive post-graduation and pursue their aspirations. Our commitment to student achievement is at the core of our existence, and every member of our team is focused on fostering student success. We are equally dedicated to promoting equity, actively challenging systemic racism, and addressing the disparities that restrict our students' choices.
Our culture emphasizes respect, service, and the belief that the success of our students, their families, and the communities we serve is integral to achieving our mission. We cultivate a positive, open, and inclusive environment where honesty, humor, and continuous improvement are celebrated.
Join us in our quest to create a model urban school district that delivers excellence for all students. Together, we can make a meaningful impact.
Position Overview:
At Mastery, our philosophy is that all means all. Nearly 25% of our students have individualized education plans (IEPs) to ensure they receive tailored educational opportunities. We believe that IEPs create a collaborative opportunity for teachers, parents, school administrators, case managers, related services personnel, central office staff, and students (when appropriate) to work as a unified team to enhance educational outcomes for children with disabilities. Our aim is to continually push the limits of what is achievable for our students. To this end, our special education teachers implement comprehensive, research-based interventions, consistently monitor progress, and make informed adjustments to achieve optimal results for students.
Our Specialized Services Programming spans itinerant to supplemental levels of support, with a strong commitment to ensuring our diverse learners spend as much time as possible in general education settings, while minimizing time in self-contained classrooms. We prioritize maximizing our teacher-to-student ratio within our Special Education programs. To achieve this, we maintain multiple classrooms across our network specifically designed for Autism Support, Emotional Support, Life Skills, Multiple Disabilities Support, and Multi-Lingual Learner Support.
We are excited for you to bring your passion, skills, and experiences to our robust Response to Intervention program at Mastery. We offer a diverse array of Common Foundation research-based curricula to support our students' educational journeys.
