About the Role
The Security Engineering team serves as a crucial ally across the organization, striving to make Betterment the safest environment for our clients' funds. We achieve this by developing tools for our engineering teams, enhancing the security and integrity of our systems, and integrating monitoring and visibility into our services. This enables us to operate efficiently while adhering to stringent regulatory standards.
Our team works with popular programming languages including Ruby, JavaScript, Java, and Python. We utilize a variety of cutting-edge technologies to support our tools and platform, such as AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Helm, Terraform, Datadog, CircleCI, and Splunk. As a member of the Security Engineering team, you will play a key role in delivering new products, tools, and systems securely, enhancing the impact of our engineering efforts while ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our customers!
This position is eligible for remote work. Below is the base salary range for this role, reflective of the requirements for city or state compensation. For candidates in other locations, actual pay will be determined based on experience and geographic context. Please note that actual salaries may vary based on multiple factors including location, experience, and performance. The listed range is only one aspect of Betterment’s comprehensive compensation package.
- New York City: $170,000 - $180,000

This position may also qualify for variable compensation in the form of an incentive bonus.

- Enhance security measures across systems including CI/CD, sensitive data storage, mobile design, and front-end web services
