ABOUT THE LUCAS MUSEUM OF NARRATIVE ART
Set to launch its doors in September 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is a pioneering institution dedicated to the art of storytelling through visuals. Established by the visionary George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the museum proudly showcases an extensive collection featuring works from renowned artists such as Norman Rockwell, Kadir Nelson, Jessie Willcox Smith, N. C. Wyeth, Beatrix Potter, Judith F. Baca, Frida Kahlo, and Maxfield Parrish, along with iconic comic artists like Winsor McCay, Jack Kirby, Frank Frazetta, Alison Bechdel, Chris Ware, and R. Crumb. Additionally, the museum boasts stunning photography by Gordon Parks, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Dorothea Lange, as well as the Lucas Archives, which include models, props, concept art, and costumes from Lucas’s illustrious filmmaking career.
Crafted by the acclaimed architect Ma Yansong of MAD and landscape designer Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA, the museum is located in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, encompassing an expansive 11-acre campus that features newly developed green spaces and a 300,000-square-foot facility. This state-of-the-art building includes multiple galleries, two theaters, a library, a restaurant, a café, a retail store, and community gathering spaces.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are in search of a seasoned Security Operations Center Operator to ensure the safety of our museum's treasures, visitors, and employees through vigilant monitoring and prompt response to security incidents. Reporting to the SOC Lead, the ideal candidate will adeptly manage multiple alert streams within a cultural institution, adhere to established standard operating procedures (SOPs), and comprehend the rationale behind automated workflows to guarantee suitable responses while harmonizing security measures with visitor engagement.
This role operates within a 24/7 security operations center situated in our museum, equipped with numerous monitoring stations and display screens. The position necessitates extended periods of focused attention on computer screens and security monitors. Candidates must be capable of maintaining alertness during quieter periods while being prepared to react swiftly in case of incidents. Exceptional judgment is crucial in this role, as decisions must carefully balance the protection of priceless, irreplaceable artifacts with the museum's educational mission and visitor experience.
This position reports directly to the SOC Lead.
