The Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will oversee the core finance operations for our Australian entity, which includes payroll, accounts payable, tax compliance, and financial reporting. You will serve as the main liaison for vendors, auditors, and external service providers while supporting broader global finance initiatives to ensure accurate and compliant financial processes.
Main Responsibilities
- Payroll Management: Understand payroll calculations and relevant tax matters for Australia, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Maintain payroll records, including time tracking and reconciliation of pay rates with contracts.
- Submit monthly data to the outsourced payroll team, including hours worked, sick leave, vacation, and staff changes.
- Act as a point of contact for the outsourced payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Assist with payroll audits for external providers as well as internal audits and compliance with tax and labor authorities.
- Ensure accuracy in time-capturing software and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with project managers and HR.
- Accounts Payable:
- Process and validate invoices, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and resolving any discrepancies.
- Serve as a key fraud-prevention checkpoint for all invoices and payments.
- Manage vendor relationships with prompt and professional communication.
- Batch, process, and prioritize payments via electronic funds transfer (EFT).
- Prepare 13-week cash flow forecasts and manage cash flow effectively.
