About the job
About ridealso.
At ridealso, we are at the forefront of electric mobility, initially envisioned as part of Rivian. Our dedicated team comprises builders, innovators, and visionaries committed to creating groundbreaking vertically integrated small electric vehicles (EVs) that address the mobility challenges of today and the future. Our mission is to encourage everyone to embrace ridealso—substituting local car, truck, and SUV journeys with more accessible, enjoyable, and incredibly efficient transport solutions.
We are on the lookout for a passionate Senior Advanced Quality Engineer (AQE) with a focus on Mechanical Engineering to join our talented team. We seek outstanding quality and engineering experts to help bring ridealso's innovative products to fruition.
This team is dedicated to instilling a culture of "Quality, Done Right" throughout the entire product lifecycle, serving as the strategic "Voice of Quality" within our R&D and Engineering divisions. In this essential role, you will advocate for product quality from the outset, influencing mechanical design to mitigate defects long before production begins. You will connect our Palo Alto design center with our international Operations quality teams.
Key Responsibilities

Risk Management: Spearhead meticulous execution of DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for mechanical subsystems, identifying critical-to-quality features and establishing control plans.
NPI Execution: Oversee the design quality process from inception to completion, implementing Safe Launch Plans and Master Control Plans throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase.
Technical Problem Solving: Lead investigations and failure analyses for mechanical failures encountered in testing or development environments.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the liaison between R&D in Palo Alto and our overseas manufacturing partners, ensuring seamless translation of design intent into production.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in quality engineering or a similar discipline.
