The Team You’ll Work With:
The Mayor’s Office of City Legislative Affairs (CLA) is the primary liaison between the Administration and the City Council under the Mamdani Administration. CLA focuses on building productive relationships and supporting the Administration in shaping public policy, advancing the legislative agenda, negotiating City Council legislation, and preparing for public hearings.
The Problems You’ll Solve:
The Senior Advisor will report directly to the Director of City Legislative Affairs and will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Acting as a liaison among the NYC Council, Citywide Elected Officials, Administration officials, and relevant Mayoral agencies to oversee projects and implement strategic outreach aligned with Mayoral objectives.
- Collaborating with agencies, boards, commissions, organizations, and institutions to meet Administration goals and project timelines while reviewing agency and interagency outputs.
- Providing administrative support, including drafting correspondence, preparing briefing memoranda, conducting background research, and compiling information for the Director of City Legislative Affairs.
- Conducting research on local, state, and federal laws, court decisions, and other legal documents, collaborating with the NYC Law Department to assess legal implications for policy needs.

- Experience with the agencies in the portfolio is highly desirable.
