About the Deworm the World Initiative in Tanzania
The Deworm the World Initiative provides essential technical assistance to governments in executing high-quality, cost-effective, and sustainable programming. Launched in Tanzania in late 2025, our Deworm the World program integrates with existing government systems to establish low-cost, sustainable programs addressing neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
We collaborate closely with the Government of Tanzania to combat parasitic worm infections, including schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminths, improving the health and well-being of over 10 million Tanzanian children who are currently at risk or infected.
Children affected by worm infections often experience severe health issues that hinder their ability to attend school, as their bodies struggle to absorb essential nutrients. If untreated, these infections can result in anemia, malnutrition, impaired mental and physical development, and serious chronic health conditions.
The Role
The Senior Program Associate will oversee small to medium workstreams within the Deworm the World Initiative in Tanzania and will be accountable for the inputs necessary for the successful delivery of these workstreams. Under the guidance of the Program Manager, the Associate will translate government and organizational priorities into actionable plans for Mass Drug Administration (MDA), Coverage Evaluation Surveys (CES), supply chain management, reporting, and more.
