About the job
Join AECOM's dynamic Major Pursuits Team as a Senior Bid Manager, where you'll take the lead in high-stakes pursuits across our diverse markets. This pivotal role is designed for a high achiever who excels in complex environments and consistently delivers outstanding results. You will spearhead early capture processes and strategic positioning, driving pursuit strategies while leading multi-disciplinary teams to secure essential contracts that are vital to AECOM's growth and the successful delivery of transformative projects throughout the UK and Ireland.
To thrive in this role, you should be a natural leader with a project management mindset and a high level of emotional intelligence, adept at navigating the nuances of stakeholder dynamics, building trust, and inspiring teams. You should possess at least five years of experience in bid management and pursuit capture for high-value contracts (£35M+), demonstrating a proven track record of success across various dimensions: securing work, enhancing business processes, and fostering personal growth while enabling the development of others.
Your expertise will guide and collaborate with senior business leaders, technical teams, bid teams, and capture managers, ensuring clarity and strategic insight at every stage of the pursuit. You must confidently engage with C-Suite executives and subject matter experts, displaying proficiency in facilitation, risk management, and joint venture coordination.
If you view challenges as opportunities for positive change and derive energy from formulating winning strategies while guiding pursuit teams through the entire process—from capture and bid to interview and beyond—this could be the ideal opportunity for you. Your success will shape the future of major infrastructure delivery, enhance your exposure to senior leadership, and contribute to ongoing improvements in our work acquisition strategies. You’ll become part of a high-performing team with ample opportunities for growth, leadership, and innovation.
The position offers flexible location options, allowing you to work from anywhere in the UK, with travel required for delivering workshops and co-located working during key pursuit phases.
