As the Senior Counsel for Global Commercial Legal at AbbVie, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the legal strategy for our Immunology medicines. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a principal legal advisor to cross-functional teams within AbbVie’s Immunology sector, offering proactive guidance on commercial, regulatory, and operational matters. This includes legal counsel on product launches, patient support frameworks, marketing tactics, promotional activities, scientific exchanges, regulatory submissions, and managed healthcare contracting strategies.
- Deliver substantial legal advice across various departments such as Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs, addressing a wide array of legal, regulatory, and compliance challenges, including FDA regulations, False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, OIG guidance, PhRMA Code, Sunshine Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and competition law.
- Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to effectively manage risk, resolve disputes, and influence favorable outcomes.
- Demonstrate expertise and provide counsel on government-related policy initiatives, including IRA, 340b, and PBM reforms.
- Impact strategic direction by converting legal, regulatory, and industry changes into actionable guidance.
- Select and oversee outside counsel, defining project goals and managing engagements.
- This role reports directly to the Senior Associate General Counsel, Global Commercial Legal.
