About the Role:
The Senior Cybersecurity Consultant will focus on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), playing a pivotal role in assisting Datacom’s clients to enhance their security posture by aligning security initiatives with business objectives. You will work hand-in-hand with our customers to ensure adherence to essential Australian cybersecurity standards and regulations, primarily focusing on the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Information Security Manual (ISM) and Essential Eight (E8), along with the Commonwealth Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and may involve other relevant national and international security standards and frameworks.
This position is well-suited for experienced cybersecurity professionals with a minimum of 10 years in IT, including at least 5 years specializing in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC).
Important Note: Due to the nature of our clientele, applicants must be Australian Citizens with Baseline security clearances (or higher, such as NV1 or NV2).
Your Responsibilities:
- Security Consulting: Serve as a trusted advisor to Datacom’s clients and internal teams, understanding their cybersecurity requirements and offering expert advice and security solutions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work together with cross-functional teams to promote a mutual understanding of security risks and propose tailored mitigations. This may involve close collaboration with project managers, technical support teams, architects, external vendors, developers, security teams, and business units to integrate security needs into projects or ongoing operational tasks.
- Project Delivery: Assist in the planning and execution of security projects or Datacom’s engagements, ensuring goals are met on schedule and adhere to quality standards. Maintain comprehensive documentation of activities and monitor progress against project objectives. Provide mentorship and oversight to junior team members.
- Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices. Proactively suggest enhancements to security policies, processes, and tools to bolster overall security posture.
- Communication and Reporting: Develop clear reports and presentations detailing security findings and recommendations.
