About the job
About the Role
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Databricks DevOps Engineer where you'll play a crucial role in designing, building, and operating enterprise-grade data and machine learning platforms on AWS and Databricks for our Financial Crime platform.
This position emphasizes platform infrastructure, governance, security, and operations, rather than solely focusing on data engineering or Spark coding. You will assume complete administrative ownership of the Databricks environment, ensuring it remains scalable, secure, compliant, and ready for production.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and manage comprehensive data and ML platforms utilizing AWS and Databricks.
- Administer Databricks workspaces specifically tailored for the Financial Crime platform.
- Champion DevSecOps and DataOps methodologies, including infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines for data and ML workflows.
- Optimize Databricks compute clusters (both job and all-purpose) for maximum performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement governance protocols through Unity Catalog, overseeing access control, security policies, data lineage, and isolation.
- Establish and manage ML infrastructure, including model deployment and serving endpoints.
- Seamlessly integrate AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Kinesis, Lambda, EKS/ECS) with Databricks runtime and Delta Lake.
- Adopt platform security best practices, focusing on secrets management, audit logging, and compliance controls.
- Enhance system performance and troubleshoot extensive production issues.
- Guide engineering teams and establish architectural best practices for scalable data and ML systems.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data platform architecture, cloud infrastructure, or ML platform engineering.
- In-depth enterprise-level expertise with Databricks and AWS.
- Comprehensive understanding of Unity Catalog governance and security frameworks.
- Practical experience in designing, deploying, and managing Databricks clusters in production environments.
- Proficient in managing Model Serving / ML deployment infrastructure.
- Strong implementation focus — capable of designing, building, deploying, and operating platforms end-to-end.
- Experience in regulated sectors, preferably in banking or fintech.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform).
- Experience with multi-account/multi-region cloud architecture.
- Knowledge in financial crime, risk, AML, or fraud analytics platforms.
Benefits
- Company-sponsored meal and parking allowances.
- Full benefits and salary retention during the probationary period.
- Insurance coverage per Vietnamese labor laws plus premium healthcare for you and your family without seniority conditions.
- Performance bonuses of up to 2 months' salary.
