About the job
Safran.AI, formerly known as Preligens, is a subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense, dedicated to delivering cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions for high-resolution satellite imagery analysis, full motion video (FMV) streams, and acoustic signals. Our technologies serve critical sectors including aerospace, defense, and governmental applications.
Since our inception in 2016, we've been at the forefront of developing complex algorithms and software that automatically analyze, detect, and identify military-relevant objects from both commercial and governmental data sources.
Following our integration into Safran in September 2024, Safran.AI has also been pivotal in transforming the group by applying our AI solutions to Industry 4.0 domains. For instance, AI-driven image analysis can support inspectors of critical components by assisting in the detection of potential anomalies from digital imagery.
At Safran.AI, innovation and the creation of a safer world are at the heart of our mission. By joining us, you'll collaborate with passionate, multidisciplinary teams comprised of some of the most talented engineers, researchers, and developers in the industry, all driven by a shared commitment to technological excellence. We foster a stimulating work environment where creativity and initiative are welcomed, and every idea is valued.
Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It
You will become a key member of the IMINT (IMagery INTelligence) detection team, focusing on developing and refining our algorithms for object detection and classification in satellite images (optical, infrared, SAR, etc.).
The team consists of around twenty experts, primarily Deep Learning Scientists, divided into three smaller groups of 5 to 7 members.
Your role will involve contributing to one or more projects aimed at enhancing a specific algorithm, such as those detecting aircraft, ships, or vehicles in satellite imagery.
To create these detectors, the team utilizes an internal stack of tools designed to streamline the workflow of Deep Learning Scientists. This stack includes:
→ A generic toolset (AI Platform) that supports all our product lines, developed by the AI Engineering team.
→ A dedicated toolset specifically for the IMINT product line, developed by the AI IMINT team.
Your technical contributions will leverage our internal AI framework and include enhancements to this framework, integrating leading technologies.
