About the job
Vera Therapeutics (Nasdaq: VERA) is a pioneering late clinical-stage biotechnology firm dedicated to developing transformative therapies for severe immunological disorders. Our mission is to revolutionize treatment standards for patients suffering from these conditions by advancing innovative solutions that target the root causes of immunologic diseases. Our flagship therapeutic candidate, atacicept, is a fusion protein administered at home through a subcutaneous injection once a week. Atacicept is designed to inhibit both B-cell Activating Factor (BAFF) and A Proliferation Inducing Ligand (APRIL), two key factors that stimulate B cells to produce autoantibodies involved in autoimmune diseases, notably IgA nephropathy. We are also investigating the potential of atacicept for other immunological conditions. Furthermore, Vera is in the preclinical development stage for VT-109, a next-generation dual BAFF/APRIL inhibitor, and MAU868, a monoclonal antibody aimed at neutralizing BK virus infections, particularly critical in transplant settings. Our core values form the foundation of our culture, guiding our hiring practices, collaborative efforts, and our overarching goal of enhancing medical treatment for patients with immunological diseases.
