LEAP Program Overview
Global Solutions Ventures (GSV), a collaborative initiative between ZemiTek, LLC and Dexis Consulting Group, is executing the Long-term Exceptional Technical Assistance Project (LEAP Global). This program, which originated through USAID, addresses infectious diseases such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, neglected tropical diseases, and pandemic influenza. As of July 1, 2025, LEAP Global transitioned to support from the U.S. Department of State (DOS). This initiative seeks to tackle the intricate human resource challenges faced by national infectious disease programs in U.S.-supported countries.
The project aims to recruit and integrate technical expert advisors and subject matter specialists into government entities. By embedding this expertise within national programs, LEAP provides long-term, sustainable support to empower host governments to effectively manage their infectious disease portfolios and enhance collaboration between the U.S. Government and the host country.
Position Overview
Zimbabwe is implementing a decentralized, patient-centered approach to combat drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB), guided by the National TB Strategic Plan (NSP) and national PMDT guidelines. The program is enhancing access to rapid molecular diagnostics, all-oral DR-TB treatment regimens, and decentralized care models while fortifying surveillance, supply chain systems, adherence support, and quality of care.
The Department of State will second a Senior DR-TB Advisor to deliver specialized technical assistance to the National Tuberculosis Program (NTP). The Advisor will contribute to policy development, program execution, partner collaboration, and the scaling up of innovations to enhance DR-TB detection, treatment outcomes, and prevention efforts. Additionally, the Advisor will assist the NTP in delivering lifesaving humanitarian assistance (LHA) in full accordance with the new Presidential Executive Order.
