About the job
At SpaceX, we envision a future where humanity explores the cosmos. Our mission is to develop groundbreaking technologies that make interplanetary living possible, with the ultimate aim of establishing human life on Mars.
SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER - SATELLITES (STARLINK)
SpaceX is at the forefront of deploying Starlink, the world's most sophisticated broadband internet system, leveraging our extensive expertise in rocket and spacecraft design. Starlink represents the largest satellite constellation globally, delivering fast and reliable internet to millions. Our team is responsible for the comprehensive design, development, testing, and operation of all system components, including thousands of satellites, user-friendly consumer receivers, and the sophisticated software that integrates these elements. As we continue to evolve and enhance our constellation, we are seeking exceptional engineers to join our innovative team.
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for Starlink, you will take complete ownership of the hardware lifecycle that facilitates connectivity. Your role will intersect various engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, thermal analysis, software, and antenna/RF engineering. You will tackle challenges in high-speed digital communication, analog systems, network integration, power electronics, and RF devices. Your responsibilities will span from system design and schematic capture to PCB layout oversight, hardware troubleshooting, and defining requirements for silicon and full-scale product production and testing. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including mechanical and software engineering, will be essential to drive successful outcomes across satellite subsystems.
Your placement within specific teams, such as:
- Avionics: Responsible for the bus avionics systems that control the satellite, manage power distribution, and facilitate high-speed data routing and inter-satellite communication via our advanced Space Lasers.
- Payload: Focused on cutting-edge phased arrays, parabolic antennas, and custom electronics to deliver superior connectivity to our customers.
will be determined during the interview process based on your technical skills and personal preferences.
