We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to spearhead our Fintech domain, playing a pivotal role in developing a robust, scalable, and adaptive platform that facilitates customer payments and internal financial operations.
This impactful leadership position commands significant influence within a critical business sector. The role encompasses the complete lifecycle of efood’s payment and financial transaction processes, from the customer's initial payment to downstream processing and controls, which include refunds, cancellations, fraud prevention, vendor payouts, reporting, and compliance responsibilities. The position demands exceptional engineering judgment, adept people management skills, and the capability to navigate a complex stakeholder landscape effectively.
You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Finance stakeholders, Engineering leaders, C-suite executives, and Delivery Hero teams to enhance domain operations, elevate technical standards, and support the domain's evolution as our business expands.
Our Technical Environment
We utilize a microservice architecture comprising over 80 services that efficiently manage high volumes of requests through both synchronous and event-driven communication patterns.
Our technology stack includes Golang, REST APIs, gRPC, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and messaging frameworks like Kafka and cloud messaging services.
As part of the Delivery Hero group, we work closely with their Global Services teams.
Your Responsibilities:
Lead the Fintech engineering domain by managing a diverse team structure that includes an Engineering Manager and senior engineers, adapting the team structure over time based on domain priorities, scalability, and organizational requirements.
Collaborate with Product Managers to enable the delivery of new payment features and domain enhancements, while providing technical insights, trade-offs, and prioritization guidance.
Engage with Finance stakeholders to streamline end-to-end finance processes, minimize discrepancies, enhance automation, and clarify cross-team issues and dependencies.
Offer technical leadership by steering architectural and design decisions, mentoring engineers and managers, and raising the standards for engineering quality, ownership, and system thinking.
Oversee execution across multiple services and teams, including dependencies on Delivery Hero services, by maintaining clear priorities, identifying risks early, and ensuring visibility on progress, constraints, and results.
Assist the team in balancing feature delivery, reliability, and technical improvements, with strategic hands-on involvement when necessary to remove obstacles or support critical decisions.
Mentor and enhance the growth of engineers and managers through regular coaching and feedback.
