Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting:
- Lead the month-end and biannual financial reporting processes, including the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Ensure adherence to IFRS and all relevant regulatory standards.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies in financial performance.
2. Accounting Operations:
- Oversee the management of the general ledger, ensuring prompt and accurate transaction postings.
- Supervise accounts payable, receivable, and intercompany transactions.
- Establish and uphold internal controls to protect company assets.
- Guarantee the successful completion of month-end reconciliations and processes.
- Assist in the computation and submission of VAT obligations.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with applicable insurance regulations and tax laws.
- Act as a liaison with external auditors during annual audits and manage related requests.
- Support the preparation and submission of necessary regulatory reports while addressing inquiries from governmental bodies.
4. Team Leadership:
- Mentor and support junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Promote a collaborative team atmosphere that fosters professional growth and development.
- Lead initiatives aimed at process enhancements and systems improvements.
- Take full ownership of the trial balance accuracy, engaging relevant stakeholders to address any risks.
5. Financial Analysis:
- Perform thorough financial analyses to support the strategic initiatives of management.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiencies.
