Join a leading name in the fire protection industry as a Senior Fire Sprinkler Designer. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing code-compliant, practical fire sprinkler system designs from initial concept through to permit approval and ongoing construction support.
We seek a self-motivated designer with extensive knowledge of NFPA standards, strong field experience, and a proven track record in utilizing AutoSprink and/or Revit within a production setting. This position demands a commitment to design quality, effective coordination, and construction feasibility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and layout fire protection sprinkler systems—including wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, fire pumps, and tank systems—utilizing specialized CAD software like AutoSprink and Revit.
• Coordinate sprinkler system piping with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical components of the building.
• Conduct hydraulic calculations and convert design measurements into fabrication-ready specifications.
• Interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Implement relevant NFPA standards based on building type, construction type, hazard classification, and architectural features.
• Prepare comprehensive design submittal packages and manage communications necessary for obtaining design approvals and permits.
• Analyze work orders and procedural manuals to ascertain critical design requirements.
• Generate fabrication lists for pipe vendors and requisition materials as necessary.
• Conduct field surveys to verify design accuracy and installation suitability.
• Assist field personnel with installation inquiries and resolve design issues during construction. Collaborate with Estimation, Design Management, Operations, and other internal teams to meet project timelines.
• Engage with AHJs, contractors, and other trades to ensure compliance and effective coordination.
• Support permitting and inspection processes by preparing required documentation.
• Participate in pre-design, coordination, and review meetings.
• Identify potential cost savings, efficiency enhancements, and quality improvements.
• Finalize and submit job close-out documents following acceptance testing.
• Comply with company safety policies while maintaining a professional, customer-centric approach.
