THE ROLE
As an integral member of our Hardware Development Team, you will spearhead the advancement of Pure Storage’s high-performance systems from conceptual architecture to global deployment. Your expertise will connect innovative design with unwavering reliability as you work alongside Engineering, Operations, and JDM partners to redefine the standards of enterprise storage. Your goal: to deliver hardware that is not only exceptionally fast but also robust and scalable for the most demanding data environments.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Architect and Design: Lead the complete product development lifecycle for next-gen storage hardware, overseeing schematic capture and PCB layout, and integrating complex x86 architectures with high-speed bus technologies.
- Lead Hardware Validation: Develop, implement, and automate sophisticated validation and qualification testing (including eDVT and system stress testing) to ensure all components meet Pure’s stringent performance and reliability benchmarks.
- Tackle Complex Technical Challenges: Perform in-depth root cause and failure analysis (FA) on hardware issues, employing high-speed oscilloscopes and bus analyzers to enhance system resilience against real-world failures and customer challenges.
- Optimize System Integrity: Conduct audits and enhancements of device-level power, signal integrity (SI), and thermal functionality, ensuring flawless operation of high-speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet up to 800Gbps+) under peak conditions.
- As we primarily operate in an in-office environment, you will be expected to work from our Santa Clara, CA office in alignment with Pure’s policies, except during PTO, work travel, or other approved absences.
