Your Role
As our Senior IT Incident Response Manager and Fractional CISO, you will take full ownership of the incident response program, ensuring a proactive security posture throughout the organization. You will craft and implement effective incident response plans, conduct realistic drills, and lead the command during incidents. In your fractional CISO role, you will collaborate across departments to synchronize security initiatives with business risks, emphasizing a hands-on approach to leadership that prioritizes readiness, transparency, and measurable progress.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the entire incident response lifecycle: preparation, detection, response, recovery, and continuous enhancement.
Design and facilitate executive-level tabletop exercises and technical drills, ensuring identified gaps are addressed.
Develop and maintain comprehensive playbooks for various security incidents, including account compromises, ransomware attacks, and cloud vulnerabilities.
Lead real-time incident management, establishing command structures, overseeing communications, preserving evidence, and conducting post-incident reviews.
Define escalation protocols, on-call responsibilities, and coordination strategies with SOC/MDR partners and incident response firms.
Work closely with IT, Security, Legal, HR, Finance, and Engineering to ensure effective crisis communication and business continuity planning.
Clarify roles and communication standards to ensure effective team operations during high-stress situations.
Transform security risks into actionable business insights and prioritized strategies at the executive level.
