“Candidates must successfully clear a ServiceNow background screening, which includes USFedPASS (US Federal Personnel Authorization Screening Standards). This entails a credit evaluation, criminal/misdemeanor background check, and a drug test. Employment is contingent upon passing this screening. Due to Federal regulations, only US citizens, US naturalized citizens, or US Permanent Residents (green card holders) will be eligible for consideration.
Work Location:
Although we prefer candidates based in the San Diego, CA area, we are also open to applications from other locations in the Pacific Time zone. Remote work is available for candidates who do not reside near a ServiceNow office.
The Team:
As a vital member of the Systems Administration team within Global Cloud Operations, your focus will be on managing and operating the global cloud infrastructure that supports our SaaS product. This role emphasizes development skills to create tools and solutions through coding. This is an excellent opportunity to be at the heart of a cloud platform that scales to millions of users! The Cloud Operations team ensures the availability and efficiency of the server infrastructure that powers our SaaS platform while integrating and deploying products newly developed by engineering teams. You will collaborate closely with engineers and developers across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code for ServiceNow’s global private cloud.
- Develop automation tools using Python, Bash, and JavaScript to reduce manual tasks and enhance the customer maintenance experience.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement by sharing engineering best practices and quality standards.
- Lead enhancements and bug fixes for large-scale automation projects, such as patching, provisioning, and kickstart domains.
- Design and implement maintenance procedures when automation is not feasible; collaborate with internal teams to resolve root causes.
- Prepare new ServiceNow products and services for production readiness, including design reviews, feedback to engineering teams, training, and testing.
- Support a diverse range of infrastructure services, including Machine Learning and Prediction, Cloudera Big Data clusters, Kafka and RabbitMQ messaging, database encryption, E-Mail infrastructure, DNS, Puppet, NGINX, Kubernetes, RHOSP, and more.
