The Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer plays a crucial role in supporting ongoing projects that involve the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and system software. This position also entails the maintenance and debugging of systems software. A functional understanding of CMOD components, along with comprehensive knowledge of support products such as tape management, scheduling, security, and monitoring systems, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor database space usage.
- Oversee archive storage space management.
- Facilitate print migration during system upgrades.
- Establish print retention policies.
- Define system printers for Content Manager OnDemand.
- Define applications, application groups, folders, and cabinets.
- Schedule jobs to maintain database, cache storage, and archive storage.
- Utilize knowledge of Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS & OPC).
- Collaborate with users to identify report indexing and retrieval requirements.
- Define reports within the system.
- Set up user groups and permissions in Content Manager OnDemand.
- Implement user security configurations.
- Load reports into the system.
- Assist in managing the backup and recovery processes for databases and other data storage areas.
- Address server, network, and application issues.
- Provide support for end-user inquiries.
- Establish security and audit policies, including password and permission management, and monitor application group and user activity using OnDemand's audit features.
