Purpose:
The Senior Manager of External Manufacturing serves as the primary liaison with suppliers, responsible for overseeing organizational, strategic, and technical operations to ensure the seamless supply of designated products. This role guarantees that the manufacturing processes adhere to both local and international regulatory standards while ensuring timely delivery in line with established forecasts and budgeted costs. The position also involves managing projects and programs that influence AbbVie's market presence, ensuring the products are cost-effective, marketable, and manufacturable throughout their lifecycle. Through effective matrix management, the Senior Manager will lead cross-functional teams, providing program management support and acting as the main AbbVie representative for coordinating operations for both existing and new products with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in negotiations for Manufacturing Service Agreements and ensure adherence to terms.
- Develop and implement effective planning and material procurement strategies for suppliers.
- Communicate product forecasts to Third Party Manufacturers (TPM) and collaborate on manufacturing and delivery schedules.
- Contribute to the creation and revision of the Financial Operating Plan, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
- Facilitate Steering Committee coordination and monitor the performance of Virtual Operation Teams.
- Prepare status updates for senior leadership and review process performance in collaboration with quality teams.
- Establish governance frameworks and communication channels, ensuring suppliers meet quality and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance for annual reviews and audits, ensuring timely investigation of deviations.
- Lead project management initiatives, encompassing scope, cost, time, resource, communication, and risk management.
