Senior Manager, Legislative Affairs
Radiant Industries is on the lookout for an experienced Senior Manager, Legislative Affairs to spearhead our engagement with Congress. This pivotal role will influence the policy, authorization, and appropriations landscape essential for deploying microreactors to U.S. government entities.
Sitting at the heart of Radiant’s federal growth strategy, this position is critical as numerous deployments will support national security, energy resilience, and mission assurance objectives across various government sectors, including military and FEMA. The right individual will craft legislative strategies that empower our customers to fund, procure, authorize, and scale the deployment of advanced nuclear systems.
This position is distinct from traditional policy roles. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of congressional operations, adeptly navigate authorization and appropriations processes, and effectively translate technical and operational priorities into tangible legislative outcomes. You will collaborate closely with company leadership and cross-functional teams to drive funding and policy support for impactful deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
Congressional Strategy & Appropriations:
Formulate and implement Radiant’s congressional affairs strategy to bolster key U.S. government programs, align with customer priorities, and adhere to deployment timelines.
Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with Members of Congress, committee staff, leadership offices, and personal offices, particularly in defense, energy, appropriations, and homeland security.
Identify and leverage opportunities to advance authorizing and appropriations language that facilitates the deployment of advanced nuclear systems for mission-critical applications.
Monitor, analyze, and influence annual authorization and appropriations cycles, hearings, markups, and legislative proposals pertinent to Radiant’s customers and priority projects.
Prepare comprehensive briefing materials, hearing memos, legislative analyses, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
Contribute to shaping the external narrative surrounding Radiant’s role in supporting national security, resilient infrastructure, and operational energy goals.
Cross-Functional Execution:
Collaborate extensively with business development, policy, regulatory, and technical teams to align congressional strategies with customer requirements, capture priorities, and deployment opportunities.
Convert Radiant’s technical capabilities into clear policy, budgetary, and legislative objectives.
Lead efforts to ensure alignment between legislative outcomes and corporate strategic goals.
